In addition to its primary use in male hypogonadism, testosterone cypionate once had a broad range of clinical applications. During the 1960s, it was prescribed to women to reduce lactation and treat menstrual bleeding, and it was even studied for male fertility rebound following temporary suppression. By the 1970s, such practices were phased out due to limited efficacy and risk of side effects. Today, its use is almost exclusively confined to testosterone replacement in men, particularly in the U.S. where it remains a dominant product.
