Described in 1965, Methyltrienolone is a synthetic oral steroid with structural ties to trenbolone, modified for extreme potency and metabolic stability. Although it showed promise in clinical trials for hormone-sensitive cancers, concerns about its liver toxicity curtailed its medical use. Its resilience to enzymatic degradation makes it ideal for lab testing, especially in androgen receptor assays. It is still widely used in scientific research, but never became part of licensed pharmaceutical practice.
