Mesterolone, also known by the trademark name Proviron, is an oral androgenic steroid first developed by Schering in 1934. It's a variation of dihydrotestosterone (known as DHT). Its commonly utilized in medical environments to address issues like decreased libido levels, hypogonadism and infertility, in men. Mesterolone is unique among anabolic steroids as it has little to no anabolic effect on muscle tissue, primarily serving as an androgenic agent. Its ability to counteract estrogen and its applications, in addressing side effects associated with estrogen are aspects of this substances properties.
