Mesterolone commonly known under the brand name "Proviron." is an oral androgenic steroid developed by company Schering in 1934. A differential of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), it has been used medically to treat conditions like low level of libido, hypogonadism, and male infertility. Unlike other steroids, Mesterolone offers little anabolic benefit, focusing primarily on androgenic effects. Its anti estrogenic functions make it helpful in reducing estrogen related problems. Widely available globally, it has never been approved for sale in the U.S.
