Substance Overview and History

Oral Turinabol is a form of steroid known as 4 Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone that originated in 1962 through Jenapharm, in East Germany as a variation of Dianabol (methandrostenolone). It combines features of methandrostenolone and clostebol, with a 4 chloro adjustment to decrease androgenic effects while slightly reducing its anabolic strength compared to Dianabol. Oral Turinabol became well known due, to its inclusion, in the government funded doping initiative known as "State Plan Research Theme 14;25" between 1974 and 1989 when athletes were given it without their awareness in most cases. Athletes, in sports that prioritize speed found its attractiveness in the way it helps build muscle mass without causing water retention. Jenapharm discontinued its production in 1994.
