Oral Turinabol was created by the company Jenapharm, in East Germany in 1962 under the chemical name 4 chlorodehydromethyltestosterone It was formulated by making adjustments to methandrostenolone and clostebol to lower estrogenic effects by adding a 4 chlorine modification. Living up to its role in State Plan Research Theme 14 25 Oral Turinabol was a key player, in East Germanys state funded doping initiative designed to improve athletic performance by boosting muscle mass while minimizing water retention. The drug had muscle building effects that attracted users to it for that reason specifically. In 1994 Jenapharm stopped making the drug. Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone does not result in estrogen conversion so users do not have to worry about developing gynecomastia or retaining water.
