Mesterolone, sold under the name Proviron, is an oral androgen developed in 1934 by Schering. It is mainly used for addressing conditions of testosterone levels, in men and problems related to fertility and libido since it is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone (known as DHT). It has minimal anabolic properties, acting mainly as an androgen. Its anti estrogenic effects make it beneficial for controlling estrogenic side effects.
