Selank’s anxiolytic effects were explored in BALB/C and C57BL/6 mice, showcasing varied responses to stress. In BALB/C mice Selank increased locomotor activity and reduced anxiety, while in C57BL/6 mice, it had no effect. When combined with another drug "naloxone", an opioid antagonist its effectiveness was diminished in BALB/C mice but increased in C57BL/6 mice. Results highlight the role of the enkephalin opioid system in modulating individual responses to Selank, indicating its nuanced mechanism of action across different phenotypes.
