Epitalon, a synthetic peptide discovered in Russia, is based on compounds found in Epithalamin—a pineal gland extract. Researchers from Saint Petersburg introduced it in 1999. Animal studies demonstrated improved glucose uptake, increased cell longevity, reduced DNA damage, and a 12–13% life extension in rodents. While popular in anti-aging circles, Epitalon lacks peer-reviewed human clinical trials and remains unapproved for medical use. It is sold underground or as a gray-market supplement.
