Bacteriostatic Water for Injections (BWFI) acts as an inducing liquid used to mix or dissolve medications for subcutaneous administration purposes. BWFI contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as an agent against bacteria growth to prevent contamination. Most commonly, is packed in to the multi use vials to enable repeated usage without the risk of impurities. The pH level falls between 4.0 and 7.0. Can be found in containers up to a capacity of 30 milliliters. BWFI typically remains effective for three years. Should be kept in environments with temperatures, below 25°C. Adequate care is crucial when preparing injections to guarantee the correct dilution and administration of parenteral drug.
