First described in 1966 by A.L. Goldstein and A. White, the beta thymosins are a group of peptides originally believed to be hormones produced by the thymus gland. Among the sixteen thymosins known far in existence three can be identified within the human body namely Thymosin β10 (TB10) Thymosin β15 (TB15) and the widely recognized Thymosin β4 (TB4). TB500 is a comprising of 43 amino acids that can be found across tissues except, for blood cells and is notably abundant in vital organs like the spleen,lungs, brain and heart as well as bodily fluids such, as saliva and tears. The thymus secretes TB500 to assist in healing processes. The section of TB500 that aids in healing encourages the growth of blood vessels to enhance circulation to injured areas for skin regeneration and repair of organs such, the heart and ligaments well as supporting immune response and reducing pain and swelling.
