In 2009 EMEA approved dapoxetine as the drug created by Eli Lilly specifically for addressing ejaculation (PE). Marketed under the name Priligy and classified under selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) it sets itself apart, from other SSRIs with its quick effectiveness on users bodies. The intake of dapoxetine is on a needed basis to elevate serotonin levels, in the brain for the purpose of delaying ejaculation and enhancing sexual performance. Some findings indicate that it has the potential to lengthen ejaculation time by 1 to 2 minutes. Priligy should be taken 1 to 3 hours before engaging in activity with its effects peak, within 1 to 2 hours. Because of its half life it clears the body swiftly it is best suited for occasional rather than daily use. It is not recommended to combine Priligy with SSRIs, antidepressants, sedatives or recreational substances due, to interactions.
