Initially developed by Ciba in the 1960s, Boldenone Undecylenate was sold briefly under the name Parenabol for human use but soon found its place in veterinary medicine as Equipoise. After several ownership changes, Equipoise is currently marketed by Pfizer as a prescribed medication. The compounds effects are extended by the undecylenate ester, which turns whole product into a lasting anabolic steroid commonly utilized in horses to boost muscle growth and appetite. Boldenone's chemical structure closely resembles testosterone but with a double bond modification that reduces its estrogenic and androgenic effects.
