Originally developed by Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Later in 2000s licensed to Theratechnologies. Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH). Following extensive medical research, Food and Drug Administration in 2010 the medication known as Egrift was officially licensed for treating HIV-related lipodystrophy and received approval in Canada five years later in 2015.
