Firstly Exemestane introduced by Pharmacia in 1999. It is a strong aromatase inhibitor used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women and by inhibiting the AIs (enzyme aromatases) activity it helps in lowering the levels of estrogen produced in the body. Originally developed to help patients who failed to respond to tamoxifen, the drug was later adopted by athletes to counter estrogenic side effects from steroids cycles. Aromasin that is common trade name is classified as a suicide inhibitor. Its ability to lower estrogen levels by approximately 85% makes it one of the strongest options available.
