Although trenbolone was originally developed by Roussel-UCLAF in 1967 as the acetate ester for veterinary use, trenbolone enanthate did not appear until 2004, when the underground lab British Dragon introduced it as Trenabol. It was never intended for legal medical distribution. The compound was formulated to provide longer anabolic exposure with reduced injection frequency, tailored for nonmedical performance users. Its popularity quickly spread in underground bodybuilding circles for its potency and extended release characteristics.
