Trenbolone enanthate has no pharmaceutical heritage but was engineered in 2004 by British Dragon, an underground producer catering to nonmedical steroid users. Branded as Trenabol, it was a modification of trenbolone acetate—originally introduced in 1967 by Roussel-UCLAF for cattle growth. The longer ester increased stability and injection intervals. Though never licensed or studied in clinical contexts, its potent anabolic effect and user-friendly dosing ensured its rapid spread across illicit anabolic markets.
