Product Overview

Synthroid is the name given to the levothyroxine sodium produced by Flint Laboratories in 1955. This is an artificial form of the thyroxine (T4) hormone that is produced in the thyroid gland of humans. It is primarily used for treating hypothyroidism which is associated with a deficiency in thyroid hormone production from the thyroid gland leading to slow metabolism rates; there is less thyroid hormone than what the body needs. The presence of consistent T4 allows for regulation of normal metabolism levels by the drug hence averting key processes including energy generation from nutrient degradation
