First approved for medical use in the 1970s, drostanolone propionate was introduced as a hormonal therapy for breast cancer. Created by Syntex, and marketed in the U.S. as Drolban, it offered clinicians a DHT-derived compound with anti-estrogenic effects and low androgenicity. The drug’s ability to limit estrogen activity without converting to it made it valuable in female oncology. Later, it became a favorite among athletes for enhancing muscular hardness, vascularity, and definition—especially during cutting phases.
