Marketed first as Parenabol, boldenone undecylenate was one of several early anabolic agents trialed for clinical use in wasting syndromes. Though initially promising, it was discontinued for human treatment by the late 1970s. Its long ester provided smoother hormone levels, later proving valuable in veterinary use as Equipoise. Administered to horses for strength, appetite, and recovery, boldenone’s controlled anabolic activity and reduced aromatization kept it relevant in non-medical enhancement well beyond its clinical withdrawal.
