Testosterone Base is the original, unesterified form of testosterone, introduced for clinical use in the 1930s. As the earliest form of androgen therapy, it was used to treat hypogonadism and related deficiencies. Though quickly replaced by esterified versions for longer duration, it remains notable for its rapid onset and potent anabolic effects. It is FDA-approved in other ester forms, not typically as a base. It causes full suppression of endogenous testosterone, requiring post-cycle therapy.
