Testosterone propionate entered clinical medicine in 1937 with Schering’s Testoviron®. As the first testosterone ester brought to prescription markets, it quickly achieved worldwide adoption and dominated therapy for years. U.S. athletes in the early 1950s encountered it as one of the only available steroids, alongside methyltestosterone and suspension. Initially prescribed for wide-ranging conditions in both men and women, its applications were later refined by the FDA. Still in circulation today, its endurance reflects historical roots more than unique qualities.
