PNC-27 is an exciting peptide developed from the p53 protein is designed specifically to target and destroy cancer cells. Works by creating small holes in the membranes of these cells, leading to cell death. This process is driven by PNC-27's ability to connect with HDM-2, a protein that is found in higher amounts in many cancer cells. Since normal cells have much lower levels of HDM-2, they are not affected. The structure which features an amphipathic alpha-helix, improves its potency in targeting cancer cells.
