Product Overview
Liothyronine sodium is a pharmaceutical form of triiodothyronine (T3), released in the 1950s as Cytomel®. It quickly became the synthetic alternative to animal thyroid extracts used in earlier decades. Due to its potent metabolic effects, liothyronine increased basal metabolic rate and supported weight regulation in hypothyroid patients. Over time, it gained popularity in bodybuilding and fitness due to its ability to reduce fat mass. Unlike T4, which requires enzymatic conversion, T3 acts directly, making it fast-acting but also more difficult to control without careful administration.
