MT-II is a cyclic heptapeptide derived from α-MSH and ACTH sequences, optimized for receptor binding and resistance to degradation. It binds strongly to MC4R in the CNS, triggering erections independent of direct vascular stimulation. Animal and human studies show dose-dependent erectile and libido-enhancing effects, even in psychogenic and organic ED. Unlike PDE5 inhibitors, MT-II initiates sexual arousal via central pathways, offering a novel approach to sexual dysfunction therapy.
