Clomiphene citrate, known commercially as Clomid, is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) originally developed as a fertility drug. It acts by blocking estrogen’s negative feedback at the hypothalamus, thereby stimulating the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Though designed for women, Clomid became widely adopted in male post-cycle therapy to help restore natural testosterone production after anabolic steroid use.
